1. Introduction
By creating an account and using the services provided by The Manuscript Editor (“the Service”), you (“the Author”) agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Account Registration
2.1 To create an account, you must provide accurate and complete information.
2.2 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and any activities under your account.
2.3 You must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction.
3. Use of Services
3.1 The Service provides English editing services, including proofreading, copyediting, and line editing for your manuscripts.
3.2 You are responsible for ensuring that any manuscript you submit complies with applicable laws and does not infringe on the rights of others.
3.3 We reserve the right to review and reject any manuscripts that violate these terms or are deemed inappropriate.
4. Manuscript Submission and Intellectual Property
4.1 By submitting a manuscript for editing services, you grant us permission to edit the manuscript as specified in your order.
4.2 You retain ownership of the manuscript submitted for editing.
4.3 You warrant that you have the right to submit the manuscript for editing and that it does not violate any intellectual property rights.
4.4 Confidentiality of Manuscript Submissions: We will keep your manuscript orders confidential and will not disclose them to third parties without your consent.
4.5 Document Purging: We practice document purging every 30 days, securely deleting submitted files unless specified otherwise.
5. Quality Assurance and Dissatisfaction Policy
5.1 We value quality assurance. If you are dissatisfied with an edited manuscript, you may submit your concerns within 25 days of delivery.
5.2 Complaints must be in writing and will be reviewed promptly.
5.3 Complaints submitted after 25 days will not be accommodated and will be considered a business distraction.
6. Payment and Fees
6.1 You agree to pay all fees incurred for the use of the Service as published on The Manuscript Editor.
6.2 Failure to make timely payments may result in account suspension or termination.
6.3 All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.
7. Termination of Account
7.1 We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms and Conditions or harmful conduct.
7.2 You may terminate your account at any time by providing written notice to us.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 The Manuscript Editor is provided “as is,” with no warranties or representations regarding its accuracy or completeness.
8.2 We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.
9. Privacy
9.1 We are committed to protecting your privacy. Please review our Privacy Policy, which outlines the collection and use of your personal information.
10. Changes to Terms
10.1 We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted here, and it is your responsibility to review them periodically.
10.2 Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A. Any disputes arising under these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the State of Delaware, U.S.A.
